Job Title : Site Reliability Engineer

Location : Austin, TX (hybrid)

Job Duration : 12 m Contract with potential for conversion

Primary Skills :

Ability to clearly understand, debug, and communicate complex problems with users
Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation and system management
Familiarity with OS image creation, deployment processes, and customization for various Linux distributions
Experience with MAAS and its deployment / management in on-premises environments
Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant software or engineering field required
Problem-Solving Abilities :
Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams under tight timelines.
Communication and Collaboration :
Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support and solutions.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with large-scale, multi-geographic infrastructures.
Familiarity with other infrastructure management tools or technologies

Responsibilities :

1. MAAS Infrastructure Reliability :

Ensure the stability and reliability of MAAS deployments across multiple on-premises data centers globally.

Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting MAAS instances to maintain uptime and performance.

OS Template Development :

Use Python and Bash scripting to design and create automated workflows for building and maintaining OS templates.

Maintain a repository of reusable and standardized OS images tailored to customer and operational requirements.

Customer Collaboration and Support :

Work directly with customer teams to troubleshoot and debug MAAS-related issues.

Provide expert guidance and solutions to ensure MAAS services are operating effectively for customer environments.

Automation and Optimization :

Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, improving the efficiency of MAAS deployment and maintenance workflows.

Continuously optimize system performance through proactive monitoring and updates.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :

Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for MAAS infrastructure and OS template creation.

Share knowledge with internal teams to promote skill growth and operational consistency.

Summary :

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and ensure the reliability and seamless operation of our on-premises MAAS (Metal-as-a-Service) instances across multiple geographic locations. This role is critical in supporting internal and customer-facing operations, building OS templates, and collaborating with diverse teams to maintain high service availability.

Qualification :

Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant software or engineering field required.
