Requirements:
- Five years in injection molding experience or more
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience
- Minimum knowledge of electrics, mechanics and hydraulics
- Extensive knowledge of molding parameters and thermoplastic resin
Day to Day Responsibilities
The Process Engineer is a "hands-on" position that plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high quality injection molded product. The Process Engineer is responsible for the development, improvement, and validation, of new and inherited tooling, manufacturing processes, equipment, and fixtures. Coordinates the molding efforts on new program launches that includes setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes and assisting the manufacturing operations in problem solving and continuous process improvements. While monitoring the effectiveness of processes this individual quantifies results, documents, and presents findings to management and prepares reports. This position also mentors and provides training to other injection molding personnel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sample and monitor new and existing tooling to ensure optimal processes.
- Develop and document new and existing processes, and perform process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Implement changes to improve product quality, productivity, and equipment efficiency.
- Monitor injection molds and recommend refurbishments based on production factors.
- Work with production to correct defects in molds.\Perform line setup, balancing, and time studies. Develop PFMEAs.
- Provide technical leadership and training to process technicians and operators.
- Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes to increase shop and department efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, including molding, machine, or material issues.
- Observe and record workers to determine time and fatigue rates
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Monitor and delegate tasks to other Process Engineers as needed.
- Competency Requirements:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
