Staff Management Group is seeking a Microbiologist for our client in Hillside, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.
Schedule:
- 2nd shift: 2PM - 10:30PM
- 6 Days a Week
- Plus Overtime on Weekends
Pay Rate:
- $19 - $21 / hour
Job Summary:
The Microbiologist will study microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, algae, and fungi, to understand their growth, development, and other characteristics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performing laboratory experiments.
- Supervise biological technicians and their work to evaluate the accuracy of their results.
- Isolate bacteria and other microorganism cultures for future study.
- Classify microorganisms found in collected specimens for future reference.
- Monitor the effects of microorganisms on other living things and the environment.
- Present findings to other scientists, engineers, executives, etc.
Job Requirements:
- The ability to occasionally switch shifts and work extended hours.
- Can communicate effectively in English.
- M.S. in microbiology or a related food science degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a microbiology lab, ideally in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational/multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
- Able to pass a written mathematical test that will include percentages.
