Job Summary:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure accurate and timely packaging of products. This role involves following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhering to safety protocols while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate packaging machinery, such as filling machines, labeling equipment, capping machines, and sealing machines.
- Monitor the packaging process, adjusting as necessary to maintain product quality and throughput.
- Ensure accurate labeling, coding, and packaging of products according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on packaging equipment to prevent downtime and ensure proper functioning.
- Conduct regular checks on the packaging line for any malfunctions or deviations and take corrective actions when needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the packaging area.
- Complete production and quality reports, recording data related to packaging, downtime, and quality checks.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring and replenishing packaging materials as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the packaging process and improve overall efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Packaging Operator or in a related role within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging machinery.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging and labeling.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Understanding of safety protocols and guidelines in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with specific packaging equipment relevant to the industry.
- Training or certification in operating packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures in packaging operations.
