Staffmark is looking to hire an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal in Lafayette, LA. If you have the required skills and experience, apply today!

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay will be based on experience.

We are seeking a motivated and organized Legal Assistant / Paralegal to provide support to a busy senior partner specializing in medical malpractice, maritime, and business litigation. Your duties will include trial preparation, handling discovery, summarizing depositions and medical records, drafting pleadings and subpoenas, and communicating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in trial preparation and legal research
  • Handling discovery and summarizing depositions and medical records
  • Communicating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and subpoenas
  • Coordinating depositions and independent medical exams (IME's)
  • Managing files, calendaring, and assisting with dictation and typing

Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical malpractice, insurance defense, medical summaries, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in file management, calendaring, and dictation typing
  • Energetic, motivated, and willing to take initiative
