Position Overview
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing innovative mechanical systems and products. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards.
Salary & Schedule
- Salary: $90K - $130K
- Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop both existing and new product offerings by capturing customer needs, creating concept models, building engineering models, conducting verification testing, and overseeing field-based customer validation. Transfer designs to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Operations to implement lean manufacturing techniques and optimize production processes.
- Coordinate with the supply chain for material sourcing, inventory management, part substitutions, and troubleshooting supplier or assembly issues.
- Assist Field Service with product delivery, installation, and customer training. Occasional travel required.
- Foster a collaborative and effective teamwork environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in a healthcare or medical device environment.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and mechanical kinematic analysis.
- Experience with engineering drawings and New Product Development (NPD) in healthcare or related industries.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Preferred skills include Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement (CI) experience, knowledge of 21CFR820 Design Controls, and familiarity with NetSuite.
