We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance and possess excellent customer service, communication, and follow-up skills. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of commercial accounts and ensuring the highest level of service to our clients.

Skills :

  • Communication Skills : Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for Commercial Lines Account Managers to interact with clients, producers, and company personnel. This includes listening actively to client needs, explaining insurance policies clearly, and corresponding professionally via email or phone.
  • A ttention to Detail : Attention to detail is essential for accuracy in preparing documents, processing transactions, and reviewing policies for completeness and correctness. This skill ensures that all client information is accurately recorded and that policies meet the specified requirements.
  • Customer Service : Exceptional customer service skills are necessary for providing prompt, courteous assistance to clients and addressing their inquiries or concerns. This includes maintaining a positive attitude, being empathetic towards client needs, and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure client satisfaction.

Knowledge :

  • Insurance Products and Services : A comprehensive understanding of insurance products, coverages, and services is essential for effectively servicing commercial accounts. This includes knowledge of various types of commercial insurance policies, such as property, liability, and workers' compensation, as well as the ability to explain coverage options to clients.
  • Computer Systems and Operations : Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office and agency automation systems, is necessary for performing administrative tasks, preparing documents, and maintaining client records electronically. This knowledge ensures efficiency in managing client accounts and processing transactions.
  • Industry Regulations and Compliance : Familiarity with insurance industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices is important for ensuring adherence to legal requirements and agency guidelines. This includes understanding state insurance laws, licensing requirements, and ethical standards governing insurance transactions.
  • Experience :

  • Client Relationship Management : Experience in building and maintaining client relationships is valuable for Commercial Lines Account Managers to retain existing clients, identify cross-selling opportunities, and generate referrals. This involves proactively engaging with clients, addressing their needs, and providing personalized service to enhance client retention.
  • Administrative Support : Previous experience in administrative roles, such as filing, scanning, and data entry, provides a foundation for handling administrative tasks efficiently as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. This includes organizing paperwork, managing documentation, and maintaining accurate records to support client servicing activities.
  • Insurance Industry Experience : While not always required, prior experience in the insurance industry can be advantageous for Commercial Lines Account Managers to quickly grasp insurance concepts, processes, and procedures. This includes familiarity with insurance terminology, underwriting principles, and policy administration practices.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage a book of commercial insurance accounts , including renewals, policy changes, and claims follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their commercial insurance needs.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and policy retention.
  • Prepare and process insurance quotes, applications, and endorsements for new and existing clients.
  • Review policies for accuracy and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with underwriters, brokers, and other team members to provide solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on insurance market trends , coverage options, and regulatory changes.
  • Assist clients with claims management, including reporting claims and liaising between the client and insurance carriers.
  • Utilize insurance management software and other technologies to manage accounts, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.

  • Qualifications :

  • P&C License in Wisconsin (must be current and in good standing).
  • 1 years of commercial insurance experience with a focus on account management and servicing.
  • Proven strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in technology and able to quickly adapt to new software systems (experience with insurance management software is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills , both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships .
  • Problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment. PM24
