Job Description
Performs responsible paraprofessional work opening, closing and monitoring facility operations and assisting with and supervising recreational activities; does related work as required. Duties are performed under regular supervision.
The hiring range for this position is $15.13/hour to$20.81/hour based on experience.
The full salary range for this position is $15.13/hour to $26.48/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.
Examples of Duties
- Preparing facilities for use; overseeing facility operations; serving as scorekeeper; monitoring activities and enforcing rules.
- Opens and closes recreation facilities;
- Sets up facilities, providing supplies and equipment;
- Supervises the conduct of a variety of recreational activities;
- Enforces standards of discipline and conduct by program participants;
- Assists in the organizing and preparation of recreational activities;
- Maintains stores and inventories recreation equipment, materials and supplies;
- Provides information to the public regarding center activities;
- Trash removal and general restroom upkeep;
- Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Some knowledge of the methods and practices of community recreation work including knowledge of the equipment and techniques, relevant rules and regulations of social, artistic, craft and/or athletic programs for children, youths or adults;
- Ability to instruct common recreational activities;
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other workers, program participants and the general public;
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations and maintain discipline.
Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent experience.
Salary : $15 - $26
