Performs responsible technical work in the collection of data for assessment purposes; does related work as required. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of a Senior Real Estate Appraiser or the Supervisor of Real Estate Assessments.
The hiring range for this position is from $18.55/hour to $25.51/hour based on experience.
The full salary range for this position is from $18.55/hour to $32.47/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.Conducting field investigations; assisting citizens with real property appraisal and tax matters.
Makes field appraisals and door to door inspections of real property and answers inquiries concerning appraisal when possible;
Interviews persons familiar with property and inspects property;
Takes measurements of buildings, collects data relative to number of rooms, type of construction, age, and other conditions affecting values, makes calculations and enters data into office CAMA System;
Collects data and other pertinent facts for valuation operation;
Assists in department clerical activities and with data handling for special and modified valuations;
Monitors subdivisions, and permit files to assist in preparing current appraisals; and
Performs related tasks as required.Knowledge of building construction practices and of building and land values; skill in use of tools and equipment involved in assessment activities; ability to read and understand building construction plans and specifications; ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some real estate appraisal experience.
