We are seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services for a high-visibility Wide-Area-Network (WAN) Implementation project. This initiative aims to modernize WAN transport services, improve network agility, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.

The SME will provide specialized technical expertise and assist in project planning, reporting, and stakeholder communication. This role requires deep familiarity with large-scale WAN implementation projects and the ability to effectively communicate technical findings to leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Technical Expertise :

Provide subject matter expertise in WAN implementation methodologies, processes, and technologies.

  • Analyze project documentation, including schedules, deliverables, and technical plans, to ensure compliance with objectives and standards.
  • Monitor project execution and identify potential technical risks or issues, offering actionable recommendations.
  • Project Planning & Support :
  • Assist in developing comprehensive project plans for WAN implementation activities.

  • Collaborate with the IV&V Program Manager and other stakeholders to align project goals and milestones.
  • Reporting & Communication :
  • Create detailed technical reports summarizing project findings, risks, and performance metrics.

  • Present reports and findings to project leadership, translating complex technical details into actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and objectives.
  • Collaboration :
  • Work closely with the WAN Implementation vendor, project personnel, and IV&V team to ensure smooth execution.

  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and contribute to the development of communication strategies for approximately 700 physical branch sites.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Experience :
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in technical roles supporting large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Specific experience with WAN implementation, including SD-WAN technologies and similar infrastructure upgrades.
  • Proven ability to develop project plans, create reports, and present findings to leadership.
  • Technical Knowledge :
  • Deep understanding of WAN transport services and technologies, including their implementation and management.

  • Familiarity with governance structures, technical compliance auditing, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Project Management Skills :
  • Strong background in project planning and execution for complex IT projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee technical deliverables and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education & Certification :
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, or equivalent).
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience working on high-visibility WAN or similar infrastructure transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of established project management frameworks and best practices for WAN implementations.
