What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Life Manager - Summer Program 2025 position at Stafford House Summer?
Providing a positive, life-changing experience for young people, this summer.
That’s a key feature of our role as Summer Residential Life Manager. Not only will care for the travel, accommodation and most importantly, the general well-being of our summer camp students, but also for your team of Residential Assistants, as we welcome groups of young international students to our study holidays during summer.
As Residential Life Manager, your team will be the first to meet all new students when they arrive at Boston Logan airport and then check-in to camp. You will work closely with managers to ensure that each one of our students has a life changing experience whilst studying on their summer program. The dates of employment for this role are expected to be 06/04/25 - 08/08/25
It’s a great opportunity to extend your management skills within an exciting and varied role over the summer holidays.
Here’s some of the duties you’ll be responsible for:
- You’ll care for student housing and meals, night-time supervision, and all airport transfers
- Coordinating with the catering and facilities team and transportation partners at Boston Logan Airport
- You’ll allocate accommodation, manage transfers and the supervision rota. Ensure that general housekeeping duties are met, while liaising with Group Leaders to provide a safe, fun, and smooth-running stay with Stafford House
- Managing your team. This involves setting weekly schedules for various RA duties for our young students
- Working closely with the Center Director, supporting the safety, and wellbeing of all students. This includes catering to all cultural, religious and wellbeing needs. You’ll also promote wellbeing and protection policies across the school
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Leader and managing all Health & Safety aspects of the program
- Be responsible for answering student emergency phones during off-hours if necessary. This duty is rotated amongst the management team.
- Working 6 days per week - as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position

Some of what you’ll need to join us over the summer:
- Proven successful experience in management and leadership
- Flexible schedule; sometimes working evenings or weekends
- The ability to perform residential duties as these form part of the role
- Professional with a calm approach to resolving issues
- Be familiar with the Boston/New England area would be beneficial
- Experience of working with large groups, and/or young people would be of benefit
- A very good understanding of Safeguarding procedures and policies
- Be a great communicator
- Has the legal ability to work in the United States (we will not be offering sponsorship)
