Instrumentation and Electrical Technician
Job Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding and Troubleshooting:
- Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with plant processing.
- Troubleshoot and repair compressor panel control wiring and associated devices.
- Diagnose issues with electrical motor starter panels and motors.
- Read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
- Field Work and Maintenance:
- Work in extreme weather conditions.
- Maintain and service various control valves and transmitters.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in processing plants and field boosters.
- Handle electrical systems ranging from 12V DC to 4160V AC.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) troubleshooting.
- Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools for system troubleshooting.
- Adhere to company safety procedures, including lockout and tag out.
- Voltage Testing and Inspection:
- Conduct high, medium, and low voltage testing on electrical power equipment.
- Inspect substation components for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
- Collaborate with senior technicians to ensure accurate testing procedures.
- Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 plus years of related work experience.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Licensing:
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Effective communication with teams, personnel, and vendors.
- Work Ethic:
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
