Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Associate to join our dynamic public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and consulting for businesses and individuals. This role involves preparing complex tax returns, conducting tax research, assisting with tax planning strategies, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.
- Assist in tax planning and advisory services for businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on strategies to optimize tax positions.
- Collaborate with clients to gather financial data and understand business operations.
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with audits.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior tax staff, providing feedback and guidance.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred).
- CPA certification or working toward CPA licensure.
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, Lacerte).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and client service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
