What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wordpress Developer position at StaffSource?
We’re seeking a creative and technically skilled WordPress Framer/Developer to join our growing digital team in Knoxville, TN. This hybrid position is perfect for someone who can bridge the gap between design and development — someone who can take a beautiful layout created in Framer (or similar tools like Figma/Webflow) and bring it to life in WordPress with clean, scalable, and high-performing code.
If you’re passionate about building responsive, user-friendly websites that don’t just look great but perform flawlessly, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate Framer, Figma, or other design prototypes into fully functional WordPress websites
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and templates
- Optimize site speed, performance, and SEO best practices
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, content creators, and marketing teams
- Manage plugin integrations, updates, and occasional troubleshooting
- Stay current with the latest web technologies, WordPress updates, and design trends
Required Skills & Experience
- 4 years of hands-on WordPress development experience
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (vanilla and jQuery)
- Proven experience working with Framer, Figma, or similar visual design-to-code tools
- Experience with custom theme development (not just editing existing templates)
- Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, and APIs
- Ability to work in Git-based workflows (version control)
- Familiarity with responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind)
- Strong attention to detail with a pixel-perfect mindset
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with WooCommerce or other WordPress e-commerce solutions
- Knowledge of headless WordPress or decoupled CMS architecture
- Experience using animation libraries like GSAP or Lottie
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals and performance optimization tools (e.g., Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights)
- Familiarity with page builders like Elementor or Gutenberg (especially for content team handoff)
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Hybrid work flexibility with a Knoxville-based office
- Opportunities to work on diverse, high-impact web projects
- A collaborative, creative, and growth-minded team culture
- Professional development and continuous learning support
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
