SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Position Type : Direct Hire, Full time non-exempt position
Position Hours : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am – 5 : 00pm with one hour for lunch
Position Salary : $25k base commission, $80k total compensation guaranteed the first year
Position Location : Solon, OH
Summary : Our client is a leading converter and distributor of aluminum, copper, and stainless steel metals , specializing in foil and sheet gauges. They are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to drive sales growth, profitability, and account expansion within an assigned territory and market segment. The ideal candidate will personally contact and secures new customers.
Responsibilities :
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory / market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products / services.
- Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals / quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Tracks monthly / annual sales figures. Reviews trends and historical data of customer sales and products.
- Develops an annual business plan in conjunction with Managing Director, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, focusing on meeting or exceeding sales quota. Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory / segment.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. Keeps management informed of sales efforts by submitting regular activity reports.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas. Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Assists in the development of annual marketing strategies including generation of marketing literature and product promotions.
- Participates in trade shows and conventions.
- Maintains all customer information in ACT software (customer contact software).
- Contributes to team effort as needed.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
