About the job PLC TECHNICIAN
Job Summary :
The PLC Technician will be a hands-on leader who is supporting and ensuring production equipment is performing in compliance with CAL-OSHA safety standards.
The PLC Technician will diagnose equipment via PLC logic and will complete work orders by priority. This includes inputting the work order information into the MVP system.
Required Education / Experience :
3 years of previous experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications :
Understand Allen Bradley PLC logic and be able to edit PLC programs.
Ability to read and interpret Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematic diagram
Ability to use or learn Auto-CAD electrical
Results oriented with a passion for teaching others how PLC logic works
An accountable team player that collaborates well with the plant departments
Self-driven and analytical problem solver
Strongly motivated to succeed with a clear understanding of a service driven maintenance department
Job Responsibilities :
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment via PLC, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic logic.
Layout and modify electrical control wiring.
Create and modify HMI control.
Repair / replace heavy equipment components, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
Complete assigned work orders for repairing and replacing heavy equipment components
Research supplies, parts, and machines needed to complete work orders.
Work with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot instrument and PLC problems.
Work with engineering personnel in determining routine changes to programming on the PLCs and HMIs.
Support projects involving PLCs by overseeing contractors and / or writing the PLC and HMI programming themselves.
Foster an environment of care, collaboration, and courage with team members.
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS [note : bold skills and certification are required]
3 years of previous experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs.
