We are seeking an Associate Scientist for a global pharmaceutical company. This role will focus to support Discovery Biology research programs at client facility. The ideal candidate will contribute to discovery pipeline from the bench by taking responsibility for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting cellular assays to characterize and advance novel molecules of interest. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for managing the departmental cell collection.
This is a 40-hour per-week, 12-month contract (extensions possible), 100% onsite role in Cambridge Crossing, MA. There is a $20.00/day parking fee at this site (Cambridge Crossing).

Responsibilities
- Working both independently and collaboratively to support cutting-edge Oncology drug discovery biology programs & the departmental cell collection.
- Developing and executing mechanistic in vitro cellular assays to characterize mechanism of action of novel compounds
- Managing the departmental cell collection including inventory management, cell line registration, collection, distribution, and cell line validation.
- Maintaining detailed and organized records of protocols and experimental results.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting experimental data in team meetings.
- 3 years of practical experience in preclinical laboratory work.
- 3 years of direct experience managing the day-to-day operations of a cell line collection.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture including expertise in aseptic technique, culture optimization, cell counting, cryopreservation, and validation methods.
- Experience in experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting, and a range of biology skill sets including in vitro cell assay development, plate-based assays, Western blotting, protein quantification, ELISA, MSD, transfections, lentiviral transductions, siRNA/shRNA/CRISPR, qPCR, and viability assays.
- Experience in managing or supporting a cell line collection, including experience with data management using inventory management systems such as Mosaic, Sharepoint and Benchling.
- BS/MS degree
