Optician Apprentice/Optician

Responsibilities:

- Provide patients with expert advice on eyewear options, including prescription glasses and sunglasses.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
- Work closely with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care and accurate diagnoses.
- Manage inventory and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in ophthalmic and eyewear technology.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to improve knowledge and skills.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

- Previous optical experience is required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in using EMR systems
- Strong communication and sales skills
- Experience in retail or customer service

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
