Job Description:
- Develop weekly lesson plans and room set up, which adhere to licensing requirements for the specific room requirements.
- Maintain supervision of a group of children at all times including daily activities, field trips, etc.
- Responsible for preparing and filling out forms that relate to center and licensing regulations such as, but not limited to incident reports, daily progress reports, student evaluations, fire drill report, child abuse disclosure form, administration of medication forms, etc…
- Responsible for reporting child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities.
- Responsible for conducting monthly fire drills.
- Responsible for checking each child upon arrival for signs of communicable diseases, checking attendance, contacting parents if child is absent and maintaining supervision of sign in/out procedures.
- Obligated to follow center, classroom and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Service licensing rules.
- Supervise and evaluate volunteers, lab students and student teachers.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings each quarter.
- Attend mandatory in-service trainings (must receive 15 hours of in-service each year).
- Perform light housekeeping duties within the classroom and in the center.
Job Specifications: Supervision of groups of children.
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent, direct communication with parents or guardians.
- Visual observation at both near and far distances.
- Work both inside and outside in varying environmental and atmospheric conditions.
- Occupationally at risk for bloodborne pathogens.
Qualifications: Excellent written, oral, organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of personal computers using Microsoft applications. Extensive knowledge of regulations regarding programs for children and experience in supervising such programs. Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
- CDA (Child Development Associate), Associate or Bachelor’s degree in education, family studies, psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a child care setting developing, implementing, and supervising programs for various age groups.

Stages Early Learning Center may consider any other equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A background check and a medical exam are required before the official hiring date. First Aid and CPR certification must be obtained at the time of the next available class.
