What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Aide (Spring/Summer) position at Stages Early Learning Center?
We are looking to hire individuals who would like to work part time on scheduled days & who can sub on the remaining days at our center providing care, engaging activities in a fun atmosphere for the children. Must be ENERGETIC, CREATIVE and have a GREAT PERSONALITY! We offer a wonderful work environment! This person must be reliable with a desire to be employed in a child care environment. Must be available to work during the school year with the possibility of summer employment.
Job Description:
- Aid in the set up, implementation and clean up for the following activities: arts/crafts, gross motor, centers, exploration of materials, meals/snack time and special activities.
- Maintain supervision of a group of children at all times
- Responsible for preparing and filling out forms that relate to center and licensing regulations such as, but not limited to incident reports, daily progress reports, progress notes, fire drill report, child abuse disclosure form, administration of medication forms, etc…
- Responsible for reporting child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities.
- Responsible for checking each child upon arrival for signs of communicable diseases, checking attendance, contacting parents if child is absent and maintaining supervision of sign in/out procedures.
- Obligated to follow center and classroom policies and procedures, as well as Ohio Department of Job and Family Service licensing rules.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Attend mandatory in-service trainings (must receive 15 hours of in-service each year).
- Be able to effectively communicate with parents and co-workers
Job Specifications:
- Supervision of groups of children.
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent, direct communication with parents or guardians.
- Visual observation at both near and far distances.
- Work both inside and outside in varying environmental and atmospheric conditions.
- Occupationally at risk for bloodborne pathogens.
- Perform light housekeeping duties in classrooms.
- Work in a team approach environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience with developing crafts, games and special activities for children of different ages.
- Knowledge in education, family studies, child development, recreation or related areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a high school diploma.
