We are seeking a skilled Rigging Supervisor to join our team. The Rigging Supervisor will manage rigging systems and ensure they are installed and operated safely and efficiently for various events. Along with other responsibilities, such as but not limited to project managing events, setting up audio-visual equipment, and maintaining installed audio-visual systems, this role involves close collaboration with project teams and venue staff to execute seamless event experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and design rigging systems that meet the structural and aesthetic needs of each event.
- Review event layouts, rigging plots, and technical requirements, providing input on rigging solutions and ensuring safe weight distribution and load calculations.
- Oversee the installation, operation, and dismantling of rigging systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and event requirements.
- Ensure rigging points, motor placement, and weight limits are properly identified and calculated for each event.
- Coordinate with other departments (lighting, audio, staging) to integrate rigging systems smoothly into the event setup.
- Conduct regular inspections of rigging hardware, truss, motors, and all components to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Perform load testing and safety inspections as required by industry regulations and venue protocols.
- Maintain detailed rigging logs, including rigging point locations, load capacities, and inspection reports.
- Prepare rigging safety documentation, such as rigging plots and engineering certifications, when required by the venue or client.
- Train and oversee rigging staff and freelance riggers, ensuring they are following best practices and safety protocols.
- Provide on-the-job guidance to crew members, ensuring rigging tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for rigging-related inquiries during the event.
- Manage rigging equipment inventory, ensuring availability of required tools and components for each event.
- Work within budget constraints to source and procure additional rigging equipment when necessary, ensuring all purchases meet safety and technical standards.
- Monitor and track equipment usage, coordinating with management for maintenance and repair schedules to avoid downtime.
- Develop contingency plans for rigging failures or safety issues, ensuring the crew is prepared to handle emergencies.
- Implement corrective actions immediately during events if any safety risks or equipment issues arise.
