Responsibilities:
Install and configure AFATDS, JADOCS, and (THSv2) to support test events and operational exercises.
Operate AFATDS to generate, receive, and process fire missions and Variable Message Format (VMF) messages between other AFATDS machines and simulation tools, including VMF Test Tool (VTT), Digital Fires Support Training System (DFSTS), and Extensible Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integrated (C4I) Instrumentation Suite (ExCIS).
Configure shipboard and tactical radios with AFATDS and transmit VMF over Radio Frequency to distant end users, including other AFATDS users and Naval Fires Control System (NFCS).
Configure and connect Joint Tactical Common Operational Picture (COP) Workstation (JTCW) clients with AFATDS using Effects Management Tool (EMT) to exchange track and overlay data.
Configure and connect JTCW/EMT clients with a Tactical COP Server (TCS) to receive GCCS track and overlay data.
Operate JADOCS to support targeting and fire support missions.
Configure the interfaces of AFATDS and JADOCS within a network to allow the exchange of GCCS, Link-16, and VMF data.
Conduct over the shoulder training on the installation, configuration, and operation of JADOCS, AFATDS, and JTCW/EMT.
Conduct testing events on Naval vessels both pier side and at-sea. Conduct test Planning, Execution, Analysis, and Reporting (PEAR) of fire support systems participating in integration and demonstration test events in shipboard and lab environments.
Develop test cases, test procedures, and functional checklists for fires-related test events.
Troubleshoot, document, and brief test teams regarding technical issues identified in fire support C2 systems.
Design and troubleshoot network architectures that support integrating multiple ground C2 systems.
Integrate ground C2 applications with aviation C2 systems for a common operational picture.
Establish and operate a functioning Fire Support cell capable of conducting fires support coordination, answering calls for fire, and conducting basic targeting/weaponeering using integrated fire support systems and C2 systems on a given network.
Create and execute relevant scenarios and vignettes that provide a basis to validate fire support systems and network architecture in support of Naval, Joint and Coalition events.
Qualifications:
Minimum Position Requirements:
Four years experience in operating, administering, training, or testing Fires systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), or Target Handoff System version 2 (THSv2).
Desired Position Qualifications:
Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems.
Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.
Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching.
CompTIA Security certification.
