Fits mechanical parts and subassemblies into different types of machinery and products, which may include complex assemblies. Conducts measures of products and adjusts them. Works according to established trade and shop practices, may conduct minor repairs of machines and systems. May assist in training of entry level coworkers. Job Summary:
Responsible for various types of fitting-out, mounting, wiring, decaling, and installing numerous types of options to various truck bodies. Ideal candidate has hydraulic, PTO, wiring, and weld experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cutting and installing rubber (with glue or clip on)
- Installing lock cylinders, door holders, trays, shelves, tailgates, doors, fenders, tailgates and lids
- Installing bumpers, hitches, ladder racks and windows
- Wiring of the utility/chipper bodies to the engineering specifications
- Mounting of the utility/chipper bodies to engineering specifications
- Installing of any options to engineering specifications
- Responsible for quality of product going to yard for the department
- Responsible for tools required to use (air tools, torch, hand tools, tape measure, glue, tape)
- Perform all Safety and Housekeeping duties
- Other duties as requested, directed or assigned by the Supervisor
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School diploma, or equivalent, is preferred
- One year of sheet metal experience or related experience is preferred
- Ideal candidate has hydraulic, PTO, wiring, and weld experience
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand (8 hours), bend (2 hours), reach (1/2 hour) and move about the facility
- Regularly required to lift up to 70 pounds (4 to 6 times a day)
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Required to wear safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses
Work Environment:
This position operates in a large manufacturing environment using heavy machinery. Employees for this position should expect to work on their feet for the entirety of the shift, with or without a reasonable accommodation. The ability to control the shop temperature is limited and impacted by seasons and weather.
