Position Summary: Responsible for various types of fitting-out, mounting, wiring, decaling, and installing numerous types of options to various truck bodies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cutting and installing rubber (with glue or clip on)
- Installing lock cylinders, door holders, trays, shelves, and tailgates
- Installing doors, fenders, and tailgates
- Installing bumpers, hitches, ladder racks and windows
- Wiring of the utility bodies to the engineering specifications
- Wiring of truck chassis to the engineering specifications
- Making and installing of hydraulic hoses to engineering specifications
- Mounting of the utility bodies to engineering specifications
- Installing of any options to engineering specifications
- Responsible for quality of product going to yard
- Responsible for tools required to use (air tools, torch, hand tools, tape measure, glue, tape)
- Perform all Safety and Housekeeping duties
- Other duties as requested, directed or assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required as well as ability to read, write, and speak English in order to understand written and verbal instructions and document completion of work
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting professional behavior
- Decision making capabilities – ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all company personnel, vendors and customers
- Ability to read, understand and follow blue prints
- One year of sheet metal experience or related experience preferred
