Position Scope/Summary We are seeking a skilled Farm Equipment Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic to join our main shop team. The primary responsibilities include servicing, maintaining, and repairing various vehicles, tractors, and other farm equipment. This role involves working with both gas and diesel-powered units. While experience with welding and hydraulics is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess reliable transportation, and own their own tools. Bilingual proficiency is considered an asset. We are searching for an individual with a keen ability to diagnose problems swiftly, ensuring efficient resolution of issues within our equipment fleet.

Qualifications
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Employee is expected to support the quality concepts inherent in the business philosophies of Stahmanns Inc, including a variety of job-related tasks, which include the following:
- Mechanic records details of repairs made, and parts used.
- Mechanic reassembles machines and equipment following repair, test operations, and may adjust, as necessary.
- Mechanic repairs, and overhauls farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
- Mechanic examines and listens to equipment, reads inspection reports, and confers with customer to find and diagnose malfunctions.
- Mechanic dismantles defective machines for repair, using hand tools.
- Mechanic evaluates and replaces electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
- Mechanic repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
- Mechanic cleans and lubricates parts of the farmer’s equipment.
- Mechanic tunes or overhauls engines on the farm equipment.
Mechanic drives a truck to haul tools and equipment for on-site repairs on large machinery.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Familiar with hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of welding a plus but not necessary
- Able to use various hand and air tools
- Basic knowledge of diesel mechanics
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Physical and Mental Demands):
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years’ experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
