Assistant Counselor- Drug & Alcohol Clinic
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for conducting assessments to determine appropriate placement levels for outpatient dual diagnosis care. The incumbent also facilitates individual and group counseling sessions to provide clients with opportunities to explore recovery issues and work toward mutually determined recovery goals. The counselor assistant is responsible for writing biopsychosocial histories and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors level degree in related field or equivalent education and experience as determined by agency standards and guidelines of position.
- Must have valid Pennsylvania licensure or Pennsylvania Certification Board credentials, including LPC, LCSW, LSW, CAAC, CADC, CAADC, or CSS or be able to acquire licensure or credentials within two (2) years of hire.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a team.
- Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system, drug and alcohol system and recovery principles.
- Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and develop comprehensive treatment / recovery plans for their program participation.
- Act 33/34/31 and FBI Clearances
- Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
