TITLE: Math Club Advisor (Stall Brook)
FUNCTION:To assume the responsibilities for organizing, guiding, directing and supervising the Stall Brook Elementary School Math Club in its numerous competitions.
Directly responsible to the building principal.
DUTIES:
1. Conduct yearly sign-ups.
2. Apply to the SMML (Southeastern Massachusetts Mathematics League) and the NEML (New England Mathematics League).
3. Apply for copies of the Middle School Mathematics Examination held in the spring and the Mathematics Olympiad
Examination conducted in the fall.
4. Contact bus barn with schedule of yearly field trips.
5. Contact local colleges for upcoming Math Day competitions such as Bridgewater State College and Lowell University.
6. Hold weekly practice sessions to prepare for the next contest.
7. Keep records of the results.
8. Make necessary press releases throughout the season.
9. Purchase annual plaques, trophies, medals, certificates and wards for qualified candidates.
10. Present trophies, medals, certificates and awards to qualified candidates.
11. Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Preferably a member of the teaching staff.
2. Experience in supervising extra-curricular activities.
3. Knowledge of mathematics.
4. Willingness to devote time and energy to exemplary.
5. Ability to stimulate high honor students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Dedication to the service of youth.
2. Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with students.
