Position Overview
Role Summary:
This position requires a detail-oriented person who will receive invoice and supporting documents from field office locations for electronic processing on a daily and on-going basis. The billing clerk will also be tasked with updating accounting records with issued invoices, new payments, customer information, etc. The ideal candidate should be able to multitask, deal with customer concerns in a professional manner, and assist the accounting department with the preparation of financial reports.
To be successful as a billing clerk, you should have a good grasp of accounting practices and strong organizational skills. An outstanding candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a knack for working with numbers.
Role Priorities:
- Must be able to quickly learn and be proficient on a variety of web-based applications.
- Collect and sort all necessary documents for proper billing.
- Collect and sort all invoice, credit, bill, and order statements.
- Issue invoices and other bills to customers
- Process payments through various channels
- Must be reliable, detail oriented with good typing and accuracy.
- Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Updating accounting records with issued invoices, processed payments, new balances, and customer contact information.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain and file documents in such a way as to ensure effortless retrieval.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for dealing with internal and external customers
Essential Skills and Experience:
- One year or more Billing experience, a must.
- 45 WPM with accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Open Invoice, Oildex, and ARIBA a plus.
- Prior employment in an energy related field a plus.
- Strong attention to detail
Education or Certification required (if applicable)
High school education or equivalent, and at least one year related experience.
Salary : $28,100 - $35,600
