Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic by providing exceptional administrative support and customer service, as well as clerical tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, and scheduling appointments in a professional and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls using a multi-line phone system
- Provide service to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Enter new demographics and insurance information into computer system
- Assist with office tasks such as filing, coding, and documentation review
- Scan information in the patient charts as directed
- Obtain copies of patient insurance cards at each visit
- Maintains HIPAA confidentiality requirements
- Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, with courtesy and respect
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Ensures that inventory of necessary office supplies and equipment is maintained for business purposes
- Perform other duties as required or assigned

- Ability to be given direction once and apply logic in future tasks
- Proficiency in using phone systems and medical office software
- Must be able to effectively & efficiently multi-task, set and shift priorities and adapt to change
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with patients compassionately
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations
- Knowledge of file management, coding, and documentation review procedures
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary software and/or processing systems
- Ability to be attentive to detail and maintain a positive attitude
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is advantageous
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, ten key and internet applications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail a must
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
