YOUR ROLE
As a Food Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing daily procedures while assisting in the oversight of the HACCP and MSDS programs. You will collaborate with multiple meat-processing facilities, ensuring adherence to USDA and FDA regulations and maintaining compliance. Your responsibilities will include managing issues, coordinating with suppliers to uphold product quality, and maintaining files and records. Additionally, you will sign off on daily pre-shipments, participate in regulatory and customer audits, and conduct internal audits, allergen verification testing, and environmental testing. A key aspect of this role involves engaging with production teams on-site, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance protocols.
YOUR SCHEDULE AS A FOOD SAFETY COORDINATOR
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The role involves working across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting facility operations.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A FOOD SAFETY COORDINATOR
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of experience in food service, meat science, or food safety
- Strong understanding of USDA and FDA regulations as they apply to food safety
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing food safety documentation
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and facilities
Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus!
