Job description

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens (SHHG) is seeking an experienced Project Management Director to oversee key initiatives, including capital improvements, data management system implementations, and IT projects. This full-time role involves leading a high-performing team, developing project management methodologies, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The director will collaborate with departments like IT, horticulture, education, and finance, ensuring alignment with SHHG's mission to preserve and share the Manor House and Gardens. Strong project management skills, analytical thinking, and a commitment to excellence are essential for success in this dynamic role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional attitude with staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Promote diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Lead and manage the Project Management team, fostering a productive work environment.
  • Oversee projects according to strategic plans, safety guidelines, and best practices.
  • Create and execute project plans, managing multiple projects with timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Utilize project management software and tools effectively.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to achieve project goals.
  • Deliver clear reports, presentations, and dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support team members, encouraging professional growth.
  • Research best practices and industry trends.
  • Analyze data to develop recommendations for process improvements.
  • Make decisions on project budgets, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Resolve operational and service issues with leadership support.
  • Lead major transformation projects and drive process improvements.
  • Improve project management processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure projects align with strategic goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and work assignments.
  • Analyze vendor proposals and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
  • Lead change management processes to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Manage administrative and budgetary tasks for project activities.
  • Oversee capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and permits.
  • Oversee selection and maintenance of data management systems.
  • Define data requirements and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Analyze data trends for strategic insights.
  • Oversee IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support.
  • Ensure effective use of technology across the organization.
  • Align IT strategies with organizational goals.
  • Implement project management best practices and tools.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
  • Participate in required events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

9. commitment to excellence and a passion for historic preservation.

10. Experience assisting in or leading contract negotiations.

11. Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Education and/or Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent experience and knowledge.

2. Minimum five (5) years of experience in Project Management.

3. Minimum 3 years of management experience.

4. Experience working with interns and volunteers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
