We are looking for a talented individual local to the Tampa Bay area to add as a Network Administrator II for our IT team.
Position: Network Administrator II
The Network Administrator II is responsible for the daily maintenance, configuration, and administration of a network and server environment. Designs networks and monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and deploys solutions. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment installation. They participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with IT business needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, and administer enterprise connectivity, Cisco routers, Mellanox switches, Sophos firewalls, Ruckus wireless controller, and other network infrastructure equipment.
- Perform complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.
- Help with desktop and support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Patch network vulnerabilities and performs operating system updates to various Stan Weaver networking components to ensure that information is safeguarded against external threats and that the equipment is at peak performance.
- Perform a variety of system administration tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including, hardware, and software.
- Leverage software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance and coordinating, scheduling, or implementing resolutions to hardware and software problems.
- Monitor and optimize performance on the enterprise network using various network management tools.
- Design IP schemes, manage and administer enterprise IP ranges and scopes.
- Develop and maintain network documentation.
- Mentor, train, and direct team members on the correct use of network software and hardware.
- Develop high resilient and redundant network designs and is instrumental in the DR design.
- Work is differentiated from the Network Administrator I by the complexity of the network administered as the Network Administrator I.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent years of experience required.
- System administration experience and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields.
- Expert knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Expert knowledge of network security and best practices.
- Knowledge of Azure Networking.
- Supervisory skills.
