SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team of Estimators
- Daily estimating
- Manage all estimating tasks for production and custom builder projects
- Manage workflow and assign projects to estimating team
- Identify and own estimating scope for complex projects
- Prepare, maintain, and organize bid documents
- Review team members’ bids as needed
- Identify gaps in specifications and communicate directly with customers to resolve
- Maintain customer relationships by responding to all inquiries and documenting any action
- Manage all adjustments to existing estimates/budgets based on Internal & External Operations feedback
- Respond to customer or field inquiries on selections and specifications with time-sensitive resolutions
- Responsible for accurate estimate costs that directly impact gross profit on all projects
- Identify potential project risks and provide solutions to minimize cost and schedule impacts
- Develop and maintain estimating templates
- Develop and implement SOPs for estimating tasks
- Review all builder scopes/contracts and produce accurate internal SOW to be used at all levels of business
- Serve as liaison to the Field Operations Manager to accurately assess specifications and pricing
- Serve as liaison to the Account Coordinate Supervisor to resolve specification/selection issues
- Collaborates w/ Internal Operations Manager to determine the best suppliers for given projects/customers
- Walk complex projects to resolve potential issues related to estimating and/or execution
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Two years of related experience in construction estimating
- Microsoft Suite
- Proficient with Sage accounting software
- Ability to learn new software systems specific to the business
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Maintain a professional demeanor with team members, customers, and subcontractors
- Maintain company information in a confidential manner
- Attends work regularly and on time with a minimum of tardiness/absences and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness. Provides adequate notice to higher management with respect to vacation time and time-off requests
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stressful situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented with exceptional follow-up skills, both internally and externally
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized team
- Build/foster relationships with a focus on openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally
- Ability to solve problems quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
- Motivated and works well with others
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Willingness to embrace change in a growing company
