Job Position : Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Location : Pryor OK 74361
Pay Rate : $55000$65000 Annually
Shift : Day Shift; MondayFriday 6 : 00 AM2 : 30 PM

Purpose of Position :
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing implementing and overseeing health and safety policies to ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations. The role focuses on risk assessment employee training and fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the manufacturing facility.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Compliance Management :
o Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with OSHA EPA and other regulatory standards.
o Stay updated on legislative changes and adjust company policies accordingly.
Risk Assessment :
o Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential risks.
o Develop and implement strategies to mitigate health safety and environmental risks.
Training & Education :
o Create and deliver training programs on health and safety practices emergency procedures and environmental awareness.
Incident Management :
o Investigate accidents near misses and environmental incidents.
o Determine causes and implement preventive measures.
Documentation :
o Maintain records of safety inspections compliance reports training logs and incident investigations.
Program Development :
o Develop and update EHS programs such as waste management pollution prevention and safety protocols.
Safety Culture :
o Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees at all levels.
Emergency Planning :
o Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and drills.
Qualifications : Education :
o Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
Experience :
o Minimum of 35 years in an EHS role preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Certifications :
o Preferred certifications include CSP (Certified Safety Professional) CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or equivalent.
