Job Description:
The Header Manager is a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the Header department's operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety while meeting production and delivery targets. This role requires an individual with strong management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to lead a team of 60-75 employees in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Develop work procedures, schedules, and expedite workflows within the Header department.
- Assign tasks, issue written and oral instructions, and inspect work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to policies.
- Review and update the New Generation Operation Schedule (NGOS) to align with production goals and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with Lean Manufacturing principles, safety standards, and quality assurance policies.
- Monitor and manage material requirements to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
Team Leadership:
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Identify and develop employees' skills through coaching, regular feedback, and annual performance reviews.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Plan.
- Provide training, assign tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Regularly communicate with maintenance staff to address repair and upkeep needs of departmental equipment.
- Ensure adherence to safety and incident reporting protocols, escalating issues to the Safety Manager or HR Manager as needed.
Strategic Management:
- Collaborate with other managers to coordinate production, inventory, and quality assurance functions.
- Plan daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production activities to meet organizational goals.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives and monitoring results monthly.
Performance Improvement:
- Drive process improvements by identifying, communicating, and implementing capital investments and enhancement projects.
- Foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and employee engagement.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in manufacturing methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proven ability to supervise a large team effectively.
