Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a leading production facility in Joplin, MO. The role requires initial training on 1st shift at $14.75/hr, followed by a transition to 2nd or 3rd shift at $15.25/hr. The ideal candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all sanitation protocols are strictly followed to maintain food safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned sanitation duties within a designated line or area.
- Operate sanitation equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify and resolve sanitation issues by implementing root cause solutions.
- Ensure compliance with site and corporate Food Safety and Sanitation Initiatives.
- Execute and maintain the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Assess equipment reliability and conduct routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Complete all shift documentation accurately and ensure proper record-keeping.
- Demonstrate ownership of product quality by performing all required quality checks.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and food safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Strong team player with an action-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communication skills and commitment to continuous self-development.
- Capable of working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hair nets, bump caps, earplugs, safety shoes, and uniforms.
- Physically capable of bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature and environmental conditions, including exposure to dust, dirt, and chemicals.
- Knowledge of local, federal, and industry regulations related to:
- Food Safety (GMP, HACCP)
- Food Quality (Product and Process)
- Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS) testing practices and procedures
- QMP policies
- Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification (OSHA required) and perform frequent on/off operations.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Successful completion of a background check and substance screening.
