Position Summary
A leading sheet metal company in the Tulsa area is seeking a passionate and experienced Welding Instructor to join its training team. This full-time, direct-hire position is ideal for a skilled welder with extensive 3G and 6G expertise who thrives in a mentorship role. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction in welding techniques, processes, and safety practices, while helping students develop the skills needed for successful welding careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on and classroom instruction in welding techniques, with an emphasis on 3G and 6G positions.
- Teach students in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes, as well as pipe and plate welding, blueprint reading, and safety standards.
- Develop lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with program objectives.
- Evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support skill development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment while enforcing safety protocols.
- Stay current with welding industry standards, certifications, and technologies.
- Assist in curriculum development and ongoing program enhancement.
- Provide mentorship and career guidance to students.
- Manage student records, attendance, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the welding industry.
- Certified in 3G and 6G welding (SMAW, GTAW, or GMAW, as applicable).
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate, educate, and support students from diverse backgrounds.
