Job Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Service
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, functional analyses, and skills-based assessments.
- Design and supervise Behavior Intervention Plans
- Complete progress reports 6 weeks prior to authorization end date.
- Complete bi-yearly performance evaluations for supervisors.
- Complete 100 billable hours per month with an understanding that center-related responsibilities may impact completion of hours monthly. Hours billed can include, but not limited to, supervision, parent training, and Functional Behavior Assessments
- Complete 20% of supervision for all assigned clients
- Conduct 1 hour of parent training per client assigned to caseload.
- Review all incident reports to determine if treatment plan revisions are necessary.
Clinical Management/Supervision
- Oversee approximately 25 clients and their clinical programs.
- Hold weekly meetings with supervisors to review data collection, client progress, supervisor and BT therapy notes and feedback, and make changes to ABA programs if clinically necessary.
- Develop Behavior Treatment Plans and revise plans if needed based on data analysis and individual clients’ needs.
- Oversee client’s clinical programs, ensuring consistent implementation and data collection.
- Conduct inter-disciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and make recommendations.
- Evaluate and analyze data collection procedures and data findings for the purpose of program evaluation, client progress, need for revision of behavior treatment plan and/or termination of service.
- Provide substitution and support to program supervisors if needed.
Crisis Management
- Train and supervise staff in crisis intervention strategies.
- Assure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines in the event of a behavioral crisis.
- Complete required reports and documentation within mandated time frames.
Communication and Collaboration
- Develop a therapeutic alliance with parents, family and the individual receiving services
- Serve as the primary contact for families, providing ongoing updates and coordinating among multiple service providers (e.g., school personnel, related service providers, Regional Center, and medical providers)
- Engage in community outreach and educational events to raise awareness of ABA Stand Up Therapy services.
- Consult with outside related service providers to ensure generalization and maintenance of skills.
- Collaborate with clinical program managers to align PBIPs and therapeutic treatment plans.
- Attend and contribute to team planning meetings, IEPs, and other relevant meetings.
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate with clinical and educational teams to develop an ABA curriculum tailored to individual client needs.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing assessment of client-specific curricula.
- Mentor, train, and model ABA programs with treatment integrity
- Oversee center-based services, environment, materials, and activities to ensure that clinical goals focus on increasing independence, improve social interaction, and promoting inclusion.
Training and Development
- Provide initial and ongoing training for ABA Therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
- Conduct professional development workshops for staff on ABA best practices, data collection, and ethical considerations at, but not limited to, skills lab and quarterly meetings.
- Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and maintain continuing education credits required for BCBA.
- Mentor entry level behavior analysts and provide BACB fieldwork supervision.
Research and Development
- Engage in research activities to support the ongoing development of effective treatments and interventions.
- Publish and/or present research findings in professional journals or conferences.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor supervisor and therapist utilization to ensure criteria of 80% utilization for supervisors and at least 95% utilization for behavior therapists.
- Work directly with supervisors and behavior therapists to resolve any barriers impacting utilization.
- Monitor for consistency in data collection and therapy notes.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure the proper maintenance of all required documentation, including treatment plans, consent forms, and incident reports.
- Provide quarterly and annual reports on client progress, team performance, and program efficacy.
- Notify clinical director immediately of any reduction in staff utilization and/or any ethical violations of incorrect rendering of services.
Qualifications
- Valid and current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification
- At least 3 years of experience writing and evaluating Progress Reports
- At least 3 years of experience writing and evaluating Functional Behavioral Assessments, Functional Analysis, and Skill-based Assessments (e.g., VB-Mapp, Vineland, ABLLS)
- Experience providing training and supervision to Program Supervisors
- Experience in Parent Training and implementation
- Four years or more of experience designing and/or implementing intensive behavior intervention programs and services to students/clients with various developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and/or severe behavior problems in a home-based, center-based, educational, or social services setting.
- Masters’ degree with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Completion of 8-hour BACB supervision training and ongoing CEU requirements.
