Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a strong focus on financial reporting, forecasting, and operational performance analysis. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining key financial and operational performance dashboards, including the company scorecard. The ideal candidate will work closely with business partners to analyze financial drivers, validate data assumptions, benchmark against market trends, and build long-term strategic plans. This role requires 5-7 years of experience, strong expertise in financial modeling, KPI reporting, SQL data extraction, and an advanced proficiency in Excel.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial & Operational Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and improve financial and operational performance reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance to business needs.
  • Build and manage the company scorecard, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments.
  • Work closely with leadership to define KPI targets, benchmarks, and performance tracking methods.
  • Automate and optimize reporting processes using Excel, SQL, SSRS, and BI tools.

Financial Forecasting & Scenario Planning

  • Create financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Perform scenario analysis by assessing key business drivers and potential market conditions.
  • Partner with finance and strategy teams to ensure accurate financial forecasting and business planning.
  • Validate assumptions and business drivers to ensure reliable, data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Analysis & Business Insights

  • Query, extract, and analyze raw SQL data to provide insights to and reporting for business performance.
  • Conduct market and industry benchmarking to measure company performance against competitors.
  • Identify trends and variances in financial and operational data to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Provide executive-level summaries and recommendations based on data findings.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with the CFO, finance, operations, and sales teams for reporting capabilities.
  • Drive improvements in data collection, validation, and visualization to enhance business decision-making.
  • Support leadership with strategic planning by delivering actionable, data-driven insights.
  • Requirements

    Required Qualifications :

  • 5-7 years of experience in a Business Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related role with expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and KPI analysis.
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and automation.
  • Strong SQL and SSRS experience - ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze raw SQL data.
  • Experience developing and maintaining company scorecards and operational KPI dashboards.
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, P&L analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in benchmarking company performance against industry and market trends.
  • Strong data visualization skills with experience in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate with stakeholders, and present insights clearly.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with Python or R for advanced data analysis (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools and automation techniques.
  • Experience in financial services, technology, or a highly data-driven industry.
