We are looking for a dynamic Associate Director, CFCR to oversee compliance advisory across Standard Chartered Jersey and the Falkland Islands. This role is perfect for a compliance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, providing expert regulatory guidance and governance support across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key compliance advisor, providing approvals on transaction referrals, financial promotions, and regulatory reporting.
- Offer expert CDD advisory, including adverse media, PEP assessments, sanctions queries, and new business referrals.
- Support regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to AML/CFT/CPF requirements and local codes of practice.
- Oversee complaints management and ensure effective compliance monitoring through CSTs and control checks.
- Provide strategic cross-border advisory and ensure data protection compliance.
- Lead regulatory change management, staying ahead of evolving laws and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Develop and deliver compliance training to stakeholders.
- Manage policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are up to date and aligned with best practices.
- Conduct trade surveillance and market abuse monitoring.
- Oversee vendor and invoice management.
- Support governance initiatives, including risk assessments, compliance attestations, and management information reporting.
Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory frameworks, and financial crime risk management.
- Expertise in private, investment, and retail banking compliance.
- Familiarity with investment products, fiduciary services, and advisory-related regulations.
- Solid understanding of banking and securities products in private and retail banking.
- Ability to assess and interpret global regulatory requirements and ensure local compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external regulators.
- Proven ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and personal integrity.
- Experience in a Compliance Advisory or Governance role.
- Vast experience in financial services, with exposure to offshore/private banking/retail banking.
- Professional compliance qualifications (governance, risk, and compliance) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of global financial regulations, particularly in consumer investment and lending.
- Experience in regulatory reporting, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring.
