Job Summary
Standard is looking for a full time, 40 hour a week Insulation Installer to join our growing team. While candidates with construction experience are preferred, we will train any person who is willing to work hard and take pride in your craft. In this role, you will install blown-in cellulose, fiberglass, and spray foam insulation into walls, attics, basements, and crawl spaces of residential homes. You must be capable of performing physical work both indoors and outdoors throughout all weather conditions.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Installs and replaces insulation in buildings and mechanical systems
- Ability to read job site instructions and executing job work scopes as indicated
- Measure and cut insulation before any installation, so it will properly cover surfaces in walls, floors and ceilings, and around heating and air conditioning units
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety for both employee and customer
- Maintain a professional demeanor with all customers
- Loads and unloads insulation materials per job
- Transports needed tools and equipment to jobsite such as handsaws, tape measures, knives, scissors and power saws, as needed to prepare the insulation and jobsite for installation
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with efficiency
- Follows company and industry safety guidelines and regulations
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
- Previous construction experience (preferred)
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Comfort working both indoors and outdoors throughout NY seasons
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical stamina
Physical Requirements
- Ability to kneel, lift 50-70 lbs, and climb ladders
- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Related experience such as carpentry / equipment / electrical skills (preferred)
