This person will primarily work in the warehouse but will serve as a backup driver for local routes if the situation is needed. Job Description:
* Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
* Verify the quantities and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.
* Examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items; appropriately reports/records any discrepancies.
* Enters quantities received against the purchase order in the computer system and prints back orders and inventory stock put away list.
* Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers.
* Prepares shipping documentation.
* Reviews orders to determine if they were picked correctly.
* Safely and accurately cut designated lengths of wire.
* Perform requirements necessary to lift and move inventory as well as load and unload trucks.
* Professionally represent the company while interacting with customers.
* Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment while following all Company safety procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, including offering information and answering questions.
* May be a backup driver to safely drive van to transport materials within specified area; verify loads against shipping papers; obtain signed receipts for material delivered.
* Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery; record delivery information; inspect vehicle equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation.
* Knowledge of the procedures for securing the type of cargo in the motor vehicle being driven.
Job Requirements:
* High School Degree or GED required.
* Possess or ability to acquire a chauffeur’s license.
* 1-3 years of warehouse experience preferred.
