Job Description:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the warehouse operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and transfer of material. This role involves managing warehouse associates, processes, and systems to achieve optimal productivity, efficiency, and compliance with safety and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through the cycle count process and investigate discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Oversee the receiving, warehouse, and transfer operations.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and timely.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
- Partner with management in training associates and implementing standardized cross training of all warehouse associates.
- Supervise warehouse associates ensuring associates adhere to company policies, safely protocols, and operational standards.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for associates.
- Coordinate with internal departments and other branches to ensure smooth operations.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
- Analyze data and performance of associates to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive work environment aligned with the culture and goals of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three or more years’ experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees.
- Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company associates.
- Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
