Salary : $55-68k DOE

Under the supervision of the AR / Payroll Accountant, the Payroll and Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting with the company's payroll processing. Additionally, this role supports the AR Accountant with tasks such as collections, credit references, and credit checks. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Accurately process multi-state payroll in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Calculate employee wages, 401(k) contributions, medical insurance, and FSA deductions.
• Review timesheets, attendance records, payroll reports prepared by the payroll service, and other reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare payroll journal entries in a timely manner.
• Calculate accrued vacation and record vacation accrual journal entries.
• Update employee information and maintain the HR database.
• Promptly and professionally address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to data protection policies.
• Assist Accounts Receivable with collections, credit references, and credit checks.
• Assist in special and ad hoc projects as needed.
