What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associate position at Standard Fiber?
Job Summary:
The Production Blower Filler is responsible for multiple functions within the production area to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant production processes. Each production job function plays a crucial part in ensuring we produce a finished product that is made cost effectively and properly, meeting all standards for both quality and compliance. All members of the production team will be working closely together and must have a “team” first mentality. The production team will be expected to achieve the maximum output hourly and daily while also maintaining a high level of quality for each unit we produce. This role sets the pace for the production line and collaborates with team members to maintain maximum output and high-quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prep all materials before production, ensuring correct items and quantities are available. Conduct visual inspections of raw and packaging materials.
- Fill and feed machinery with the correct foam or fiber based on the work order for each production assignment.
- Fill each unit accurately, validate the weight and desired feel of the product, and match it to the provided sample.
- Maintain the required units per minute (UPM) for each program and inform the supervisor if the UPM cannot be achieved.
- Ensure each unit is closed properly, with the fill completely inside and the zipper enclosure secured.
- Package each unit according to the work order and instructions from the production manager.
- Perform constant visual inspections and report any issues or concerns to the quality inspector or production manager immediately.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience in a production line or facility is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed, up to 50lbs
