Job Summary:
The Field Supervisor oversees and coordinates the installation of glass systems for commercial projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The supervisor acts as a liaison between the project manager, installation teams, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily glass installation activities, including curtain walls, storefronts, windows, and glass partitions.
- Ensure all work aligns with blueprints, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Oversee crews to maintain efficiency, productivity, and adherence to project schedules.
- Conduct job site inspections to enforce safety regulations and company policies.
- Train and mentor installation teams on best practices, safety protocols, and proper handling of glass materials.
- Manage labor, materials, and equipment usage to minimize waste and control costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues, coordinating with project managers and clients.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and updates with management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, schedules, and incident logs.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications in glazing/construction preferred).
- Proven experience in glass installation, glazing, or construction supervision.
- Strong understanding of glass materials, fabrication, and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for handling glass.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with construction management software and scheduling tools.
- Ability to work at heights, operate lifts, and handle physical tasks as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple job sites.
