Position Summary :
The Manager of Quality and Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering and quality functions to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards. This role oversees engineering leadership, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and business performance.
Key responsibilities :
Engineering Leadership :
- Lead the engineering team, including CNC programmers, process engineers, and CAD resources, to develop and implement efficient and consistent manufacturing processes.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date BOMs and routings within the ERP system.
- Manage engineering projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with operations to drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives and improve machining and assembly processes.
- Support training and development efforts for engineering team members to enhance technical skills and knowledge
Quality
Oversee and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards and other industry regulations.Lead the quality team in implementing robust inspection processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and monitor quality metrics to identify and address areas for improvement.Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and ensure satisfaction.Modernize and optimize quality reporting tools and processes to align with best practices.Leading supplier quality.Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure accurate reporting for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), maintaining adherence to all applicable requirements and deadlines.Collaboration and Reporting :
Work closely with the VP of Operations and cross-functional teams to support business goals and operational efficiency.Create and present regular engineering and quality performance reports, including metrics for continuous improvement.Partner with finance and operations to support accurate quoting and costing analysis for improved profitability.Support management in the planning, coordination, and execution of CapEx projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary guidelinesEducation and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.5 years of experience in engineering and / or quality leadership within a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.Experience leading cross-functional teams, including CNC programmers, process engineers, and CAD resources.Proven ability to drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives and process improvements.Experience with ERP systems for managing BOMs, routings, and engineering documentation.Strong background in root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and supplier quality management.Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is a plus.Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production facility for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 25-50 lbs. occasionally.Manual dexterity to operate computers, equipment, and inspection tools.Visual acuity to read technical drawings, engineering specifications, and reports.Occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing may be required in manufacturing areas.Physical Work Environment :
Manufacturing facility setting with exposure to machinery, tools, and moving parts.Regularly required to work in both office and production environments.Exposure to noise, dust, oils, and industrial materials in certain areas.May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection when in designated areas.Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, audits, or training purposes.Our POWER Culture
