The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician plays a vital role in ensuring manufacturing standards are met and customer expectations are exceeded through diligent inspection, calibration, and quality support tasks. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, this position supports production by performing inspections, maintaining quality records, operating CMMs and other precision measurement tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process, final, special, and receiving inspections of parts and assemblies.
- Operate and/or program CMMs and Supermic tools.
- Maintain and calibrate gages; manage calibration recall system software.
- Perform product audits and special projects as directed by Quality Supervision.
- Assemble gage packages and maintain quality documentation across systems.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain 5S standards, promote safety, and ensure compliance with all SOPs and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and cross-departmental collaboration.
- ISO 9001 familiarity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools and interpreting blueprints.
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong basic math skills (algebra, trigonometry).
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift/carry 40 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and maneuvering around machinery.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty environment with exposure to oil/chemicals.
- Must use required PPE.
