Essential Duties
- Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare daily work assignments by reviewing and printing pick slips, transfer tickets, etc.
- Train new warehouse employees; continue to teach, train and develop existing employees as needed
- Must be able to lead and delegate tasks by having positive working relationships. This includes being aware of employees workloads, shifting duties to the right person at the appropriate time and adjusting throughout the day as needed to meet productivity and deadlines
- Warehouse Team Lead will answer and communicate radio transmissions for receiving. This includes facilitating incoming trucks, shipments, and directing drivers to which door to go to.
- Communicate effectively with diverse drivers
- Adapt to a daily schedule
- Maintain email communication throughout the day to stay aware of order changes, new LTL’s, and other Customer Care needs and demands
- Warehouse Team Lead must have the ability to plan ahead and prioritize LTL’s so they are ready to go when carriers arrive
- Ensure truck drivers understand correct tarping, strapping, edge protectors and all loading procedures. Warehouse Team Lead will help confirm appointment times with drivers along with Bills of Lading documents
- Facilitate communication with the plants and customer service daily on orders and problem solving
- Work closely with Associate Warehouse Supervisor and provide back-up cover when necessary
- Double-check picking of order (Quality Control) per established procedures of team members
- Follow and document Hazardous Materials Transportation Guidelines for all shipments
- Ensure all activities are performed safely
- Relieve Warehouse Associates as needed for breaks and lunches. Team Lead Associate must be willing and able to work through others’ lunch and break times when drivers are ready to load. Lunch and breaks will be shifted to slower times during the day
- Coordinate projects with Associate Warehouse Supervisor to ensure the overall productivity of the team
- Observe the needs of the operation, including housekeeping, and perform or assign the tasks. Follow-up on assigned tasks
- Assume leadership with the Associate Warehouse Supervisor in Safety and Housekeeping throughout each shift
- Ensure that all departmental expectations are met or exceeded
- Unload/load trucks; other duties as assigned
- Cycle count raw materials and finished goods and update any damages to Manual Inventory Adjustment document.
- Responsible for investigating Overages, Shortages, Damages and updating raw and finished goods OS&D sheets
- On deliveries, Team Lead Associate is the responsible person to collect BOL, packing slips and/or invoices for every shipment received. Team Lead Associate will verify quantities, and continue to teach other team members to count and verify receivables as well. Correct data will be entered into WMS, PeopleSoft, Maximo and/or other applicable systems, as needed
- Team Lead Associate will help coordinate all outbound trucks, orders, load types and correct doors based on order number and load type. All orders are categorized based on product mix and delegated to location along with a Warehouse Associate to load, as needed
- Process paperwork for shipments, including BOL, packing slip and depletion
- Post receipts for deliveries, including PeopleSoft and Maximo
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast paced, logistics manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting logistics, customer care and business goals
- Organizing, Prioritizing and Communicating. Ownership skills are critical.
- Ability to respond to requests in a professional and timely manner
