The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and assist the daily task of the maintenance team to ensure all equipment and building systems are operating at peak efficiencies. Duties will include equipment / building system monitoring, preventive maintenance and repair. Hands on supervision.

Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and assist the daily task of the maintenance team to ensure all equipment and building systems are operating at peak efficiencies. Duties will include equipment / building system monitoring, preventive maintenance and repair. Hands on supervision.
Essential Duties And Reponsibilities
- Trains and manages maintenance mechanics in the repair and maintenance activities related to machinery and facilities
- Assigns all preventive maintenance work orders
- Plans, organizes and delegates work assignments to accommodate departmental schedules, and to best utilize man-hours and equipment
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
- Assists other members of the maintenance team in assuring proper operation, perform preventive / predictive maintenance and emergency repair of all processing equipment and building systems
- Analyses and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
- Interprets Company policies to department employees and ensures they are followed
- Initiates and suggests plans to motivate department to achieve work goals
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employee; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime on short notice.
- Good attendance is a must.
- Accountable for the compliance, verification, and implementation of the following responsibilities; food safety and regulatory requirements, quality systems, and product specification.
- Supervisor is responsible for supervising, encouraging, and training workers in safe work practices. Supervisors must enforce company safety rules and work to eliminate hazardous conditions. Supervisors shall lead safety efforts by example.
- Works with HR to resolve employee conflicts and disciplinary actions
- Works with Safety on any work-related injuries. Required to fill out Injury/Accident work injury report. All injuries and accidents must be reported immediately to Safety Supervisor and HR without delay.
- Associates Degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in maintenance supervision
- Extensive knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment and controls
- Extensive knowledge of use of hand tools, power tools and electrical multi-meter
- Extensive knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Systems
- Knowledge of PLC controlled systems, programming and troubleshooting of those systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings and blueprints
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills required.
- Background with product equipment in the Food Industry (Preferably meat)
- Bi-lingual is a plus (Spanish and English)
